After years of not taking a lesson, I had my first dressage lesson on Monday with a 12 year old Thoroughbred named Cure. He's 17 hands...which, from my 15 hand mare is... massive... and he was a blast ! The lesson went well- for all the time off I've had I think it could have gone much worse. The best part was taking the knowledge away and using it with my ride on Callie the next day. I'm hoping to try to get a weekly-or-so lesson in and tidy up my dressage- so here's to REALLY riding again!
Unfortunately, I'm still completely distracted over a few things, one being this huge secret that I can't say much about yet- hint, though- I'm not pregnant, as I was recently asked. I wish I could have enjoyed my ride a bit more today as Callie was very forward and I could tell she was being driven into the bit more, though she tends to get long and heavy at times.
I wanted to make something today and had nothing in my fridge but cucumbers and an empty-except-for-the-juice pickle jar..so I "made" pickles. Pathetic today.
On one last itty bitty note, please say a prayer for a dear friend of mine who is going through a heckuvah time at the moment...life works in mysterious ways sometimes.
