That's called a "flehmen reaction." Callie did that face for a few minutes after she thought she'd found a horse treat but ate a leaf instead- definitely wasn't what she expected!
Carson thinks he's a dog and ruthlessly begs while I'm eating my lunch. I don't eat sandwich meats often, but today's lunch was roast beef sandwich- & he would NOT leave me alone.
Obviously I'm not helping the situation.
You can't tell in this picture, but Callie was enjoying the scents of fall today. She would keep her head up high, breathe in, and slowly breathe out and sigh. She did it about 4 times, like she was just taking in the moment! Talk about a horse that knows what's up!
