We are engaged!

Chad and I went to beautiful Lincoln, NH for a weekend getaway for some fall foliage and relaxation. It was a trip we were both looking forward to- working opposite schedules can get really daunting and frustrating and we agreed to try to go somewhere once a month or so to just enjoy each other.

Ladies...it was perfect. We went to dinner the night before, spent a lovely evening together in our room at the quaint and friendly Mt. Coolidge Motel, and the next morning headed out for some photo taking.

A beautiful little rest area on the Kancamangus highway led down a small trail to the river, gorgeous trees with vibrant colors, and a large boulder that overshot the water. We took photos for a few minutes and Chad invited me to take pictures on the rock like he was. I made my way over and Chad looked at my photos on my camera- there were quite a few of him taking pictures on the rock so he told me to turn around and pose for a picture for him. As he took my hand and I turned to face him, he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him (ok..he said a lot more than that!). The tears flew down my face and I almost couldn't answer...(but if you know me, this was completely the way I thought I'd react. I'm emotional, almost to a fault!)

...But I eventually was able to pull it together and say "yes!"

The rest of the day and weekend was gorgeous and there will be photos very soon- we shopped the adorable country stores and walked the river while Chad fished, ate terribly (but deliciously!) and we were recognized by the bartender from our July trek up to Lincoln at our favorite pub in NH, the Woodstock pub and Brewery, where we spent hours drinking delicious beer and playing trivia :)

Photos of our trip, as well as wedding planning posts and DIY projects to come!

We are indecisive. We HAD a date (that was posted here!) but we are re-thinking things...so the official date probably won't be posted until we've booked everything :P

I'm still speechless and cannot stop looking at my ring! Talk about being shocked- I had absolutely no idea that he was going to propose and the romance of it all is still overwhelming!

Okay...now where do I start with this planning business?!
